Product Story

Did you know it takes up to 200 years for textiles to break down? At Little Korboose, we are passionate about being a no waste company and are always finding new ways to repurpose and minimize waste.

Since 2016, Little Korboose and Vacilando Quilting Company have been collaborating to bring you low impact, eco-friendly quilts made from Little Korboose organic cotton scraps and Kona cotton. Our 3rd and latest collaboration  “Sacred Valley” was concepted during a Juniper & Stone trip taken by both founders to The Sacred Valley of Peru. Inspired by the Peruvian community, hikes in the magical Andes, the discovery of secret waterfalls and strolls through the streets of Pisac this throw quilt will fill your home with love, tranquility and culture.

The use of the Incan Cross was intentional and meant to honor the old cultures of the Andes. It is considered the most complete, holy, geometric sign of the Incas. Traditionally it represents the constellation of the Southern Cross which is to be seen on the Southern Hemisphere. This was considered the center of the universe and was easy to find when they looked up in the sky at night. Both April of Little Korboose and Laura of Vacilando Quilting Co have spent time in Peru with indigenous peoples who are friends studying Andean Cosmovision and the deep meaning of this symbol.
